THR/*V UI/UX DESIGN 2023THR/V is a modern fitness app concept that combines bold visual identity with intuitive UX. Designed for young professionals, it simplifies workout tracking while keeping users motivated through guided sessions, clear progress insights, and an energetic design system. RESEARCH & TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience includes young professionals (20–35) who want quick, accessible fitness solutions without the complexity of traditional apps. To better understand this audience, two personas were created to represent primary users:Persona 1 — Jackie, 25
Busy marketing associate with a packed schedule
Wants quick guided workouts and simple progress tracking
Values clean design and clarity to stay consistent
Looks for workouts she can do at home or on-the-go
Needs small wins and visual motivation to stay engaged
Persona 2 — Dan, 32
Software engineer focused on strength and endurance
Motivated by detailed stats and long-term tracking
Prefers a structured, professional design that mirrors his training
Seeks weekly and monthly insights to measure progress
Wants features like comparisons to push him further
USER FLOW To ensure clarity and intuitive navigation, a user flow was developed mapping onboarding, workout selection, progress tracking, and community features. This flow established the foundation for both current functionality and future opportunities such as wearable integrations and social challenges.
WIREFRAMES Early grayscale wireframes were created to establish layout, hierarchy, and navigation. By simplifying the design to its core structure, usability could be tested before applying brand identity. This approach ensured the final product balanced clarity with energy. FINAL DESIGNS High-fidelity screens showcase Thriv’s bold identity. The orange and navy palette, paired with sharp typography, creates energy while keeping information easy to navigate. The designs highlight key experiences: workout discovery, active session tracking, and clear progress insights. REFLECTION This project reinforced the value of designing with both clarity and motivation in mind. Starting from a defined flow and low-fidelity wireframes made it possible to focus on usability first, then expand into a bold brand system. Thriv demonstrates how functional needs like tracking and stats can coexist with a distinctive, motivating identity.
Looking ahead, opportunities exist to expand the experience with wearable integrations, gamified progress tracking, and social features. These additions would keep users engaged while making fitness simple, motivating, and accessible for busy professionals.
